Hikari obtained her bachelor and master in biology at Okayama University in March 2023. In her bachelor's and master's projects, she studied directional cell growth in plants, using Marchantia Polymorpha. She joined Martin's lab in October 2023 to investigate the regulation and function of the formin Fus1, which supports the formation of the fusion focus during cell fusion in fission yeast.
