About MOCEL
The Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology was created in 2022, with Prof. Francoise Stutz and the leader and its first director. Today, the department comprises of 11 research groups and is led by Prof. Orsolya Barabas as director, and Prof. Francoise Stutz as co-director. The department's mission is to understand the fundamental principles of life and provide competitive training to early career scientists. With its 11 researh groups and internationall staff of over 200 scientists, the department's main areas of focus are Cellular and Tissue Architecture, Growth Control, and Regulation of Genome Integrity and Expression.
