U-ExM Workshops
Since we developed U-ExM, our lab has been committed to sharing the method broadly and training researchers around the world. Over time, we extended the training to alternative approaches we developed such as Cryo-ExM and iU-ExM. Over the past ten years, we’ve welcomed in our lab a large number of visitors from laboratories across the globe who came to learn, exchange expertise, and troubleshoot their projects with us.
We have also organized, and continue to organize, hands-on workshops to support the community. The first two took place in Geneva, followed by one at EMBL and two EMBO-funded workshops at EMBL Heidelberg.

Now you can also contact our Geneva Expansion Microscopy Facility (GenExM) for training:

2024
In 2024, during the EMBO Lecture Course in Naples, Imaging Marine Organisms Across Scales (https://meetings.embo.org/event/24-marine-imaging), where Virginie gave a talk on applying expansion microscopy to plankton, we took part in a cooking-show–style workshop. The goal was to demonstrate the key steps of the expansion protocol and highlight how powerful this technique can be for studying protists but also multicellular systems.

2022
In 2022, we hosted a workshop for EMBL groups to explore expansion microscopy and share our approach to cryo-ExM. It was an energizing, memorable experience, and the start of amazing collaborations !
2019
U-ExM workshop in Geneva organized by David and Marine.
And best of all: cheese fondue by Lake Geneva :) !
