Lila studied biology and obtained her Master degree in Applied Genetics and Biotechnology from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece. She then moved to the University of Geneva to pursue her doctoral studies with Prof. Didier Picard, studying the mitochondrial Hsp90 chaperone TRAP1. Keen to learn more about the intriguing biology of mitochondria, in 2016 Lila joined the lab of Prof. Jean-Claude Martinou as a research technician. As of 2021, Lila is a member of Prof. Ivana Gasic's team where she is discovering the fascinating world of tubulins and microtubule cytoskeleton.
