Ana obtained her Bachelor and Masters degrees in biochemistry from the Faculty of Sciences at the University of Porto, and a PhD degree in biomedicine from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Porto, Portugal. Her doctoral work revealed novel mechanisms of microtubule nucleation within the mitotic spindle, required for accurate division of the genetic material. As a postdoctoral fellow, Ana is interested in the fundamental and disease related principles of microtubule organization in differentiated cells.
