SNSF Swiss Postdoctoral Fellowship awarded to Dr Andrea Švorinić

Svorinic_Andrea.jpgDr Švorinić, a member of the Boland/Stoeber groups, has been awarded an SNSF Swiss Postdoctoral Fellowship. Her research will focus on studying how the membrane environment and interacting lipids influence the structure and function of the HTR2A receptor, using cryogenic electron microscopy (cryoEM) in the Boland laboratory. She will also use cryoET to visualise the macromolecular oligomerisation and organisation of the HTR2A receptor in native neuronal cell membranes. The Dubochet Centre for Imaging and its exceptional research infrastructure will facilitate this ambitious and exciting research project. The structural work will be complemented by functional studies conducted in the Stoeber laboratory at the CMU at UNIGE.

This year, the success rate for receiving this prestigious fellowship was only around 9.88%. We wish Dr Švorinić every success with her research.
